Appointment Questions

  • Where are you located? Consonant Custom Cold Laser is located upstairs at KUKO HOUSE at 829 Queen Street West in Toronto.
  • How do I book an appointment? You can book online by clicking here.
  • Do I have to wear a mask? Masks are no longer required by government regulations. However if you are more comfortable wearing a mask please do so. Cold laser technicians will be wearing a mask during treatments until further notice.
  • How do I cancel an appointment? Please email us at info@consonant.com to cancel your appointment. Please email us at least 24 hours ahead of your appointment to cancel. We do have a strict 24 hour cancellation policy so please make sure you call and speak with a Regimen Coach less than 24 hours before your appointment.
  • What is the cancellation policy? In order to make it fair for everyone there is a strict 24 hour cancellation policy in effect. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment we may have to charge you for the missed appointment. Not showing up for an appointment or being more than 15 minutes late for your appointment may also result in a full charge.
  • What if I’m running late? Please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. In order to be fair to the people booked after you, your treatment will still end at the time it was scheduled to end, so being late may result in a shorter treatment.
  • Should I remove my makeup before I come? No need to do this. Your technician will do a thorough cleanse at the beginning of your treatment.

Treatment Specific Questions

  • How often should I come? This will depend on your skin’s condition. You’ll see results after your first treatment but the recommended frequency after that will be decided by your technician. Your aesthetician will be able to give you a recommendation after she sees your skin and how it responds to treatment. We typically recommend three treatments over the course of 6 weeks to start and then if you’ve achieved your target skin you can start doing maintenance treatments every 3-4 months.
    • Is there any down time? No! We do recommend trying not to put makeup on after a treatment. That way, you don’t have to wash your face at night and the serums and other skin care products have longer to work their magic. If you do want to apply makeup after a treatment it should go on beautifully.
    • Are these treatments good for all skin types? What are the contraindications?
    1. Retinol. Please don’t use any retinol products 48 hours before treatment or for 48 hours after your treatment.
    2. General exfoliation. Don’t exfoliate before 24 hours before your treatment or 48 hours after your treatment.
    3. Cancer patients. Many cancer medications make skin more sensitive to light. If you are taking one of those medications we do not advise doing these treatments.
    4. Pregnancy. None of the treatments are recommended for pregnant women due to the cold laser and microcurrent.
    5. Injectables like botox. It is recommended that guests wait for 2 weeks after having any kind of fillers or other injectables to have a C3L Best Skin or C3L Elevated Treatment.
    6. Heart conditions. People with heart conditions may do the Photo Therapy Light Panel Treatment, C3L Healthy Skin or the C3L Best Skin treatment as long as there is no microcurrent.
    7. Epilepsy. Due to the LED lights used in multiple parts of each treatment we don’t recommend that people with epilepsy come for a facial.
    8. Vacation in the sun. If someone is travelling within a week of their treatment we recommend they just come for the Phototherapy Light Panel so we’re not doing microdermabrasion on skin that is going to be exposed to a lot of sun. We recommend booking a full treatment for when you return to help undo any sun damage that may have occurred.
    • How immediately do you see benefits? Results like smoother texture are obvious from the very first treatment. Your best skin will reveal itself 2-3 days after treatment. After that, treatment results are progressive. You will notice more correction with each treatment. It is recommended that you return every 4 weeks until you see the results you’re looking for. Once that is achieved you can start booking every 4 months for maintenance.
    • Is the light safe for my eyes? It seems really bright. When the light panel first goes on it can look bright. Your eyes should adjust in about 2 seconds. There is no UV radiation so it won’t cause any damage to the eyes. We do provide goggles to help block the light for comfort.
    • Is this treatment good for sensitive skin? Like our products, our treatments are great for sensitive skin.
