Essential Healthy Habits to Implement Today


Reaching your most consonant life does not happen with a quick fix. Healthy living in general comes down to the small habits that you implement every day, like diet, physical activity, and positive thinking. Small changes can make the biggest impact, which is why we sat down with Marni Wasserman and Jesse Chappus the founders of The Ultimate Health Podcast, to get some expert advice on what habits we should focus on to reach our best health.




It’s often the fundamental things that are neglected when it comes to our health.

Most people are after big changes and big results in a short amount of time, like going on an extreme cleanse or popping the latest “all in one pill”. But what about the core things like drinking water, making sure you are getting enough sleep and eating a wholesome meal? These daily habits are essential to a thriving state of health. The problem is, they aren’t sexy.

Just because the results don’t show up right away, doesn’t mean the habit isn’t beneficial. It comes down to creating a healthy foundation of highly effective habits that will make a world of difference in how you function day to day.

Here are six habits to start with:

Hydration. In the morning, when you get up, have a tall glass of filtered water. Add a pinch of sea salt or some lemon juice to enhance it.

Movement. Take on some light movement in the morning and throughout the day to keep your body in motion. This could mean attending regular class (like spin or yoga) or it could simply mean going for a walk and doing some resistance training at home.

Nourishment. Create yourself nourishing meals everyday. Choose whole, organic foods and build meals that are based on plants with some protein and lots of healthy fats.

Sleep. If you are not getting at least 7 hours of sleep every night you are doing yourself a disservice. Make sure you get good restful sleep between the hours of 10 pm and 7am.

Self-care. Take time during the day for you. This could mean meditating, journaling, listening to music or taking a bath. Find that sweet spot and indulge in something just for you!

Community. Get involved in the community or make an effort to spend time with people that make you feel good. This could be your partner, friends, family or other local or online communities that you are involved in.
